Playlist for August 18, 2010

Hello friends. It's another exciting week in music. There are several great bands coming to Saskatoon in the next few weeks and some great new albums have come out (such as Let It Sway by SSLYBY). Also, it turns out Kanye West's next album will feature the haunting sounds of Bon Iver. We're playing a great Kanye song near the end of the show in anticipation of what is sure to be the best album of all time. Of all time!

Check out the blog donewaiting.com. They're posting exclusive tracks from the band Ghost Shirt. The song "Astronauts of Fate," which we are playing this week, is the latest installment of a Ghost Shirt project that they're calling 52 singles in 52 weeks. This is number 24 and, like all the others, it's an astonishing classic. They're releasing a brand new track every week and so far they've all been great. Get them all at donewaiting.com and watch for the rest.

Welcome back everyone, this week, while Ishmael was busy sculpting his guns, I was slaving over a hot laptop trying to put together an entertaining radio show for you ingrates.

The "Insult Matthew Contest" is still running, since no one has the stones — or any real reason — to leave a hateful comment on our blog. It's not hard, tell me you hate me and you get a favourable shout out on the radio.
